Comment OPERATED DURING WWI AS THE DALY MINE, PRODUCING BETWEEN 100-200 TONS OF ORE WHICH AVERAGED 45 PERCENT MANGANESE, 6 PERCENT IRON, 13 PERCENT SILICA. REACTIVATED ABOUT 1937 AND OPERATED UNTIL 1943. TOTAL PRODUCTION HAS BEEN ABOUT 265 TONS OF ORE AVERAGING NEARLY 45 PERCENT MANGANESE.

Comment GEOL.DESC: RED OR SERIES OF LENSES ENCLOSED IN CHERT. THE THICK BEDDED TO MASSIVE RED CHERT, THIN BEDDED BUFF TO GRAY CHERT, AND MASSIVE TO THICK BEDDED WHITE CHERT IS ENCLOSED IN GREY TO GREEN METATUFF AND METAVOLCANICS OF THE AMADOR GROUP. ORE IS PARTLY PSILOMELANE, BUT IS MAINLY BROWN GRAY OR ROSE COLORED CHERTY MANGANIFEROUS CALCIUM CARBONATE (MANGANO CALCITE). PYROLUSITE IS ALSO PRESENT.

Comment MINE IS ON PATENTED AGRICULTURAL LAND. ORE MINERALS ARE CHIEFLY BLACK PSILOMELANE AND PYROLUSITE BUT THERE IS CONSIDERABLE CARBONATE ORE CONSISTING OF BROWN, GRAY AND PINK MANGANOCALCITE. ORE RUNNING AT LEAST 20 PERCENT MANGANESE REMAINED IN THE MINE IN 1942.
