Comment (Geology): E SIDE OF MAJOR ALTERATION SILICIFICATION OF DISTRICT. SHEAR ZONE APPEARS TO TREND SW THRU CURTZ & GEORGIANA MINES, & THEN SE ALONG S SIDE OF MONITOR CANYON NEAR ZACA MILL. MINE DUMP HAS WHITE SILICFIED ROCK THAT CONTAINS MOSTLY FINE - TO - MEDIUM GRAINED MINERALS. SILICFIED HILL TOP STANDS OUT FROM SURROUNDING UNALTERED ANDESITE. IN PLACES THE SILICFIED ROCK IS IRON OXIDE STAINED.

Comment (Workings): 1200 FT MAIN ADIT, SSE TRENDING, KNOWN AS 148 FT LEVEL. 480 FT SHAFT CONNECTED 922 FT N FROM PORTAL. ALSO 220 , 280 & 480 FT LEVELS CROSSCUTS EXTEND TO ORE ZONE, ALSO STOPINGS, WINZES. MAIN ADIT, SHAFT OPEN IN 1971 . WORKINGS OF GEORGIANA & CURTZ WERE FOR A TIME DRIVEN FOR ORE BODIES IN SAME ZONE.

Comment (Commodity): RESEMBLES OTHER DISTRICT PRODUCERS EXCEPT THAT ENARGITE IS MORE ABUNDANT IN LATE 19TH CENT A BODY OF ENARGITE MIXED WITH PYRITE WAS FOUND MEASURING 10 TO 15 FT THICK AND 20 - 30 FT LONG.

Comment (Production): SOME ORE WAS SHIPPED AS FAR AS SWANSEA, WALES FOR SMELTING. MINE PRODUCED FAIRLY STEADILY 1863 - 1904 ON FAIRLY LARGE SCALE. IN 1951 , 1952 & 1957 MINOR EXPLORATION WAS DONE.
