Comment (Location): IN ASPEN MTN AREA, AT BASE OF EAST ASPEN MTN. ELEV FROM SPURR (1898); LAT-LONG APPROXIMATED FROM BRYANT (1972). PORTAL LIES ON M AND Y CLAIM (MS 3921) ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1980)

Comment (Development): CLAIMS LISTED ABOVE REPRESENT ARGENTUM-JUNIATA MINING CO. (1916)

Comment (Deposit): LEADVILLE LIMESTONE BEDS STRIKE NE AND DIP STEEPLY NW. SILVER FAULT SHOWS THICK BRECCIA OF PORPHYRY, SHALE, LIMESTONE, AND OPEN FISSURES AND WATER COURSES IN LIMESTONE. MOST OF WORKINGS RUN ON CONTACT FAULT. LATER PARALLEL CROSS-FRACTURES AND SLIGHT-DISPLACEMENT FAULTS STRIKE NW, HAVE STEEP SW DIP, AND OFFSET SILVER AND CONTACT FAULTS. EFFECT OF THESE LATER FAULTS ON MINERALIZATION IS UNKNOWN.

Comment (Workings): TUNNEL DRIVEN 250 FT GENERALLY WESTWARD, THENCE S15W FOR 500 FT AS DRIFTS ALONG CONTACT FAULT. WORKINGS POSSIBLY EXTEND SW 500 TO 1200 FT, JOINING HOMESTAKE, DURANT, A.M.S., AND/OR OTHER OPERATIONS
