Comment (Geology): EAST-TRENDING FAULT IN MORRISON FORMATION AND PORPHYRY.

Comment (Exploration): NEWMONT DRILLED THIS AREA IN 1988.

Comment (Deposit): COUNTRY ROCKS CONSIST OF SW-DIPPING JURASSIC AND CRETACEOUS SEDIMENTARY ROCKS INTRUDED BY DIORITE-MONZONITE PORPHYRY DIKE AND SILLS. GENERALLY EAST-WEST-TRENDING FAULT DISPLACES MORRISON FM AND DAKOTA SANDSTONE ON NORTH AGAINST MORRISON FM ON SOUTH. PORPHYRY DIKE FOLLOWS FAULT ALONG SOUTH WALL. FAULT MARKED BY 5- TO 10-FT ZONE OF STRONGLY BRECCIATED, PARTLY SILICIFIED ROCK WITH QUARTZ-PYRITE VEINLETS. FOR AT LEAST 40 FT ON EACH SIDE OF FAULT, ROCKS ARE WEAKLY SHEARED AND CONTAIN SCATTERED STREAKS AND VEINLETS OF PYRITE AND OF QUARTZ INTERGROWN WITH PYRITE AND ARSENOPYRITE. DEPOSIT IS OF INTEREST IN THAT ORE IS LOCALIZED ALONG STRONG FAULT THAT CHARACTERIZES NW PART OF DISTRICT.
