UPPER TUNNEL LOCATED 130 FT SW OF LOWER TUNNEL, DRIVEN GENERALLY S 47 W FOR 400 FT TO FACE, AT WHICH WINZE SUNK TO CONNECT WITH DRIFT IN JUMBO-MOROVORATZ TUNNEL.

Comment (Deposit): COUNTRY ROCKS CONSIST OF TRIASSIC-JURASSIC SEDIMENTARY ROCKS DIPPING SW AND INTRUDED BY DIORITE-MONZONITE PORPHYRY SILLS AND EAST-WEST-TRENDING DIKES. LOWER LEVEL WORKINGS CUT ENTRADA SANDSTONE ALONG 2- TO 4.5-FT-WIDE FRACTURE ZONE CONTAINING 0.25- TO 6-INCH-WIDE VEIN OF EARTHY MATERIAL, QUARTZ, BARITE, LIMONITE, AND RESIDUAL PYRITE. MUCH OF ORE PRODUCED REPORTEDLY CAME FROM PONY EXPRESS LIMESTONE CUT NEAR PORTAL OF UPPER ADIT.
