Comment (Location): PROSPECTS LIE ABOVE AND NE OF GOOSE CREEK ABOUT 1.25 MILE ABOVE CONFLUENCE WITH CEBOLLA CREEK AND 0.8 MILE NW OF DUBOIS MINE. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1975

Comment (Deposit): PROSPECT OCCUR IN BLACK VITROPHYRE AT BASE OF SAPINERO MESA TUFF, CHARACTERIZED BY CRYSTAL FRAGMENTS IN GROUNDMASS OF WELDED VITRIC ASH AND PUMICE AND BY REDDISH-BROWN SPHERULITES. VITROPHYRE IS OVERLAIN BY MAIN DEVITRIFIED WELDED TUFF, BOTH OF WHICH LIE IN FAULT CONTACT WITH DUBOIS GREENSTONE. FAULT WEST OF PROSPECTS TRENDS GENERALLY N 27 W. INTERSECTING THIS FAULT NW OF PROSPECTS IS SECOND FAULT TRENDING GENERALLY N 40 E. DEPOSIT IS BELIEVED TO BE SIMILAR TO THOSE DESCRIBED BY MUILENBURG (1919) CLOSER TO SAPINERO (SEE GOSS CLAIM). THERE, HIGHLY SILICEOUS IS HARD, COMPACT, FINELY GRANULAR, AND OCCURS AS BOTRYOIDAL MASSES IN POCKETS. FREQUENTLY OCCURS IN NETWORK OF SMALL VEINS UP TO FOUR INCHES WIDE, AND IN BRECCIA.
