Comment (Deposit): THE MAIN ORE SHOOT EXPOSED UNDERGROUND, EXPOSED FOR A LENGTH OF 55 FEET, IS A LENS OF VUGGY WHITE QUARTZ CONTAINING THICK STREAKS AND DISEMINATIONS OF GALENA AND SPHALERITE. SOME OF THE SPHALERITE IS OLIVE GREEN. THE ORE LIES ON THE FOOTWALL OF A TABULAR BRECCIA ZONE COMPOSED OF ANGULAR UNROTATED FRAGMENTS OF WALL ROCK 1-6 INCHES ACROSS. LITTLE HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION IS APPARENT. WULFENITE IS ABUNDANT AS SMALL SQA RE TABULAR YELLOWISH-GRAY CRYSTALS FORMING A COATING ON THE PRIMARY ORE IN CRACKS AND VUGS. A SECOND ORE STREAK, 8 INCHES WIDE COMPOSED OF QUARTZ AND GALENA, LIES A FEW FEET WITHIN THE HANGING WALL OF THE MAIN SHOOT. ON THE SURFACE THE VEIN IS INTERMITTENLY TRACEABLE FOR 1300 FEET.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF TWO OLD SPANISH SHAFTS; A 90-FT VERTICAL SHAFT WAS SUNK IN 1910 BETWEEN THE TWO SPANISH SHAFTS. THE LENGTH OF THE SPANISH WORKINGS IS UNKNOWN, THE DRIFT IS CAVED AT BOTH ENDS. ONE SPANISH SHAFT IS SAID TO BE 90 FEET VERTICALLY, THE OTHER INCLINED DESCENDING IN STEPS. BOTH ARE NOW FILLED IN.

Comment (Development): JONES (1904, P. 30), BELIEVES THAT THE EARLIEST WORK WAS PERFORMED PRIOR TO 1680 BY INDIAN SLAVES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE JESUITS
