Comment (Geology): TANSLEY (1933) CALLS LIMESTONE CAMBRIAN, BUT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION SUGGEST MADISON FM. WINCHELL (1914) DESCRIBES ANDESITE INTRUSIVE 1000 FT. SOUTHEAST OF THE MINE.

Comment (Deposit): ORE BODIES LIE ON NW SIDE OF STRONG FAULT.ENRICHED OXIDIZED ORE WAS MINED DOWN TO THE 300 FT. LEVEL. SULPHIDE AND TELLURIDE ORES CONTINUED FROM 300 FT. TO ALMOST 800 FT.

Comment (Workings): A 925 FT. WINZE WAS SUNK ON MAJOR (SOUTH) ORE SHOOT FROM A 700 FT. TUNNEL. THE 5 FT. WIDE, NORTH ORE-SHOOT WAS ALSO DEVELOPED FROM THIS TUNNEL. A LARGE AREA OF STOPES EXTENDS ABOVE AND BELOW THE 300-FT. WATER TABLE

Comment (Production): ESTIMATE ASSUMES AU PRODUCTION AT $20.67/OZ. MINE WAS LARGEST MONTANA AU PRODUCER IN 1938 AND 1939.
