Comments

Comment (Workings): The mine is developed on at least five levels by 6,000 feet of workings.

Comment (Geology): Several veins follow fractures in the frontal fault zone, trend NNW and dip from 40 degrees east to near vertical; they are quartz veins with streaks of sulfide ore minerals.

Comment (Geology): Boss vein strikes N12W and dips 40 NE (average). Vein width averages 3.5 ft, but mineralized material generally much narrower. Thunderbolt vein strikes N05W and dips about 35 NE. Averages about 5.0 ft in width, but mineralized portions of the vein are narrower. Several other veins are present, and ore shoots are commonly localized at vein intersections.

Comment (Location): North side of North Rock Creek, near the common corner of secs. 13, 14, 23, and 24, T 4 S, R 79 W, about 8 miles NW of Silverthorne.

Comment (Production): About $222,000 of high-grade silver ore was produced from 1882-1897; a small amount has been produced since then.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): Mine dumps and old stopes may contain lower grade material that could be concentrated and processed. Maximum tonnage estimated to be 60,000 tons.
