THERE ARE 2 VEINS; EAST OR MAIN VEIN AND WEST VEIN. EAST VEIN MOST PRODUCTIVE. AT 2400 FT LEVEL A NEW ORE BODY ENCOUNTERED, 1700 FT SOUTH OF CROSSCUT FROM MAIN SHAFT

Comment (Workings): DEVELOPED BY 2533 FT VERTICAL MAIN SHAFT, 1800 FT INCLINED SOUTH SHAFT AND SEVERAL OLD SHALLOW SHAFT. MORE THAN 2500 FT OF UNDERGROUND WORKINGS

Comment (Geology): GWIN VEIN IN SAME MARIPOSA SLATE AS MINES TO NORTH IN AMADOR CO., BELT OF SLATE IS 2000 FT WIDE.

Comment (Commodity): WHEN GALENA AND SPHALERITE ARE PRESENT IN SMALL AMOUNT, ARE CONSIDERED TO INDICATE GOOD ORE. LARGE CRYSTALS OF ARSENOPYRITE INCLOSE ARBONESCENT MASSES OF CRYSTAL GOLD. FREE GOLD COARSE AND CAUGHT IN NO. 16 SCREEN ON MORTARS, 98 % OF AU RECOVERED THIS WAY - QUITE UNIQUE AND HIGH AVERAGE. SULFIDES IN SLATE HAVE HIGH AG FRACTION AND LOWER AG FRACTION. ORE SHOOT IS PYRAMIDAL IN SHAPE AND VERTICLE AS FAR AS IS EXPLOITED
