Comment (Deposit): COUNTRY ROCK IS INTERBEDDED SLATE AND GREEN SCHIST WITH SMALLER AMTS. OF QUARTZITE AND METACHERT, ALL PART OF THE CALAVERAS GROUP. ORE CONSISTS OF NATIVE GOLD WITH CONSIDERABLE AMTS. OF GALENA AND PYRITE IN QUARTZ, AND SMALLER AMOUNTS OF CHALCOPYRITE & SPHALERITE. THE FREE GOLD IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH GALENA.
