Comments

Comment (Production): PROBABLY FIRST WORKED IN THE 1860'S AND SOME ACTIVITY UNTIL 1875. IDLE FOR SEVERAL DECADES DUE TO INACCESSIBILITY UNTIL PRESENT DEVELOPMENT WORK BEGUN IN 1949, AND STILL UNDER WAY IN 1956. SOME ORE MINED IN 1954 RAN $27.22 PER TON IN GOLD. IN 1953 SOME ORE TAKEN FROM THE OLD DUMPS YIELDED ABOUT $10 PER TON.

Comment (Workings): THREE ADITS, 150, 75 AND 200 FT. LONG RESPECTIVELY, UPPER TO LOWER; APPARENTLY CONSIDERABLE STOPING DURING EARLY DAY OF OPERATION.

Comment (Deposit): FOUR UNPATENTED CLAIMS, THE WILLAIMS BROTHERS AND THE 2, 4, 5, EXTENSIONS TOTALING ABOUT 80 ACRES. IN ADDITION TO THE GOLD, FLACKS OF OTHER SULFIDES SUCH AS SPHALERITE, GALENA AND ARSENOPYRITE MAY BE SEEN IN SOME OF THE ORE BUT ARE NOT COMMON.
