Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE OCCURRED IN 3 PLACES SEPARATED BY FAULTING, UNDERLAIN BY THIN BEDDED CHERT AND UNDERLAIN BY THICK BEDDED GRAY IRON STAINED CHERTS AND SHALES. ORE BODY IS GRAY MANGANESE CARBONATE COVERED BY BLACK MANGANESE OXIDE FILMS, AND CUT BY VEINLETS OF PINK RHODOCHROSITE. SOME REDDISH-BROWN ORE (POSSIBLY NEOTOCITE) IS ALSO PRESENT. SANDSTONE, GREENSTONE AND DIABASE ARE FOUND AROUND THE CHERT.

Comment (Production): ABOUT 150 TONS OF ORE MINED DURING WORLD WAR I; WORKINGS ARE NOW CAVED AND MINE IDLE.
