Comment (Location): AREA UNSURVEYED. 2000 FT N OF THE DAY SHAFT

Comment (Workings): 20-30 DEGREE INCLINE BEARING S50W WITH CROSSCUT AT BOTTOM WHICH CONNECTS WITH THE DAY SHAFT OF THE BLACK METAL MINE.

Comment (Production): DURING THE LATTER PART OF 1926, SHIPMENTS WERE MADE AT A RATE OF 1900 TONS OF MN ORE A MONTH. GRADE WAS 15-20% MN, 3 OZ AG/TON AND .8% PB. PRODUCTION UP TO 1912 INCLUDED WITH THE BRISTOL MINES REPORT.

Comment (Development): EARLY ORE WAS USED AS A FE-MN-CAO FLUXING ORE FOR 3 EARLY AREA SMELTERS. FROM 1924 TO 1927, 22 % MN ORE WAS BEING SHIPPED TO COLOMBIA STEEL (25000 TONS NET $3.97/TON)

Comment (Geology): ORE BODY CONSISTS OF A VERTICLE PIPE 25 FEET THICK FROM WHICH ORE BEDS EXTEND OUT LATERALLY INTO THE LIMESTONE. FROM THE CENTER OUT, THE ORE BECOMES HIGHER IN MN AND LOWER IN AG AND PB. THE HIGHLAND PEAK LIMESTONE IS SHATTERED AND BRECCIATED OVER A LARGE AREA, MUCH OF IT IS WHITE DOLOMITE MARBLE, BUT THIS SEEMS TO HAVE NO BEARING ON THE OCCURENCE OF THE ORE. THE ORE CONSISTS OF SOFT BLACK OXIDE (WAD) AND PYROLUSITE MIXED WITH CARBONATE GANGUE. THE HIGH GRADE ORE HAS A STEELY LUSTER.
