Comment (Geology): NORTHERN DEL NORTE COUNTY COAST IS BORDERED BY AN EMERGED MARINE TERRACE. MUCH OF THE BEACH SAND IS REWORKED TERRACE MATERIAL AND CONSISTS OF HALF SAND AND HALF GRAVEL. HEAVY MINERALS PROBABLY ULTIMATELY DERIVED FROM SMITH AND KLAMATH RIVERS

Comment (Development): IN 1913-1914 A PLANT FOR RECOVERING AU AND PT OPERATED. IN 1918, E.V. DAVELER CONCLUDED THAT CHROMITE COULD NOT BE CONCENTRATED BECAUSE OF ITS HIGH IRON CONTENT (24% FE).
