Comment (Deposit): A GOLD-BEARING GARNET SCHIST FROM THIS PROPERTY IS IN THE SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM (PIC-32, p. 12 also gives this info, but doesn't mention the garnet)

Comment (Deposit): "The Centennial Mine, the first known lode mine in the district, was opened in 1876 (Beeeler, 1906, p. 11). Several drifts and prospect pits were developed in iron stained hornblendic gneisses and schists about one mile south of the village of Centennial. Free gold was present associated with shear zones and quartz veins, and a total production of at least $90,000 in free milling gold ore was realized. Ore productioon ceased when the workings penetrated a "flat fault" which suppoedly cut off the mineralized zone." (McCallum, 1968, p. 10)

Comment (Deposit): FREE GOLD IN SHEAR ZONE AND QTZ VEINS IN SCHISTS AND GNEISSES. (From deleted MAS rescord 0560010115 = newMRDS 10302827.

Comment (Production): Gold production was 4,500 ounces. (PIC-32, p. 12)
