Comment (Production): 7 OZ. AU, 3 OZ. AG IN 1940-41

Comment (Deposit): SAMPLE 2854 WAS CHIPPED FROM A VEIN AT THE HEAD OF THE CANYON THAT MAY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE SOURCES OF THE GOLD IN- THE PLACERS. THE VEIN WAS A QUARTZ, IRON-STAINED BRECCIA THAT- HAD BEEN PROSPECTED HISTORICALLY BY HAND AND BY A DOZER. SAMP-LE 2855 WAS FROM 2 VERY INTERESTING- LOOKING VEIN MATERIALS WI-THIN THE PLACER MATERIAL, WHICH INCLUDED QUARTZ WITH SULFIDES -AND POSSIBLE AU, AG. SAMPLE 2856 WAS FROM AN APPARENT TUNGSTEN- PROSPECT ON A RIDGE OVERLOOKING THE PLACERS.
