MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Development): MOST PRODUCTION FROM 1893-1905; INTERMITTENT UNTIL 1950. NO ACTIVITY IN 1984, BUT ROAD TO MINE TURN-OFF AND BEYOND HAS BEEN RECENTLY GRADED.

Comment (Deposit): SULFIDES OCCUR IN CLEAR QUARTZ VEIN MATTER ON THE DUMP OF THE MAIN ADIT. VEINS APPARENTLY CUT DARK ARGILLITE AND C-HERT. INTRUSIVE CONTACT WITH DIORITE OR GRANODIORITE IS A SHOR-T DISTANCE TO THE NORTH.

Comment (Workings): SEVERAL ADITS, ONE LARGE AND ONE MODERATE-SIZED DUMP. SOME DUMP MATERIAL HAS BEEN REMOVED IN THE PAST FEW YEARS.

Comment (Geology): VEINS IN THE GOLD NOTE GROUP VARY IN WIDTH FROM 1.5 TO 5 FT. AND APPEAR TO HAVE FORMED AFTER THE RHYOLITIC INTRUSIONS OR COINCIDENT WITH THEM

Comment (Deposit): LOCATED AROUND 1891. GREATEST PERIOD OF DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTIVITY IN VICINITY OF THE IMPERIAL & GOLD NOTE MINES WAS BETWEEN 1893 & 1905; INTERMITTENT UNTIL 1950. IN 1947 ONLY ACTIVITY WAS EXPLORATION AT THE GOLD NOTE MINE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
