Comments

Comment (Production): OVER 273 TON ORE MINED, 1871-1941; WITH 200 TONS 30% SB ORE REPORTED PRESENT IN 1942, AND SEVERAL THOUSAND TONS OF 3-5% SB MILLING ORE PRESENT, PLUS MATERIAL ON OLD DUMPS.

Comment (Location): ON RIDGE CREST BETWEEN FORKS OF COTTONWOOD CREEK

Comment (Development): SOME PRODUCTION IN 1871 AND 1939-1941.

Comment (Deposit): VEIN, REPLACEMENT IN FAULT ZONE

Comment (Workings): SHAFTS, CUTS, TUNNELS

Comment (Geology): VEIN CUTS BOTH QUARTZITE AND SHALE. VEIN IS 2 FT. WIDE IN QUARTZITE, BUT OPENS OUT TO A 8 TO 10 FT. ZONE OF CRUSHED MINERALIZED ROCK WHEN IT PASSES INTO THE SHALE. MOST OF THE STIBNITE IS IN DARK-GREY QUARTZ VEINS.

Comment (Deposit): DISCOVERED ABOUT 1870. THE DEPOSITS WERE KNOWN IN 1871, AND WERE WORKED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE SINCE THEN. IN 1912, 3 CLAIMS ON THE STRIKE OF THE DEPOSIT WERE OWNED BY J. M. PINE. PROPERTY WAS DEVELOPED BY SEVERAL SHAFTS ON THE CREST OF THE RIDGE, 50 TO 100 FT. DEEP, AND NUMEROUS SHALLOW CUTS AND SHAFTS AND TUNNELS IN THE GULCHES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE RIDGE. SOME PRODUCTION IN 1871 AND FROM 1939 TO 1941 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
