Comment (Production): PRODUCTION GIVEN ABOVE IS FOR 1937-1951 SHIPMENTS OF TAILINGS AND INCLUDES 1,424 LB. ZN. IN ADDITION, 1380 TONS ORE WERE PRODUCED IN 1870-1875 WITH A TOTAL VALUE OF APPROX $153,200. THIS ORE RAN UP TO $350/TON IN SILVER AT THAT TIME.

Comment (Geology): ORE OCCURRED AS A REPLACEMENT OF CRUSHED WALLROCK WHERE FRACTURE ZONE SPLITS.

Comment (Development): LARGE PRODUCER IN THE 1870'S, BUT IDLE AFTER 1885. PART OF THE FRENCH CO. HOLDINGS FROM 1880'S TO POST-1912.

Comment (Deposit): THE VEIN IS WITHIN A PROMINENT NORTH-TRENDING FAULT ZONE ON THE FRINGE OF A COPPER-GOLD ZONE. THE VEIN RANGES IN THICKNESS FROM A FEW INCHES TO 3 FT AND HAS BEEN TRACED FOR THOUSANDS OF FEET ONLY STRIKE. FIRST CLAIM WAS RECORDED IN 1869. THE VEIN WAS A LARGE PRODUCER INTHE EARLY 1870'S, BUT LAY IDLE AFTER 1885. THE 2 TUNNELS AND 160 FT. SHAFT WERE ABANDONED AND CAVED IN 1912. IT WAS PART OF THE FRENCH CO. HOLDINGS FROM EARLY 1880'S TO POST-1912. PROPERTY WAS OWNED IN 1950'S BY F. LANGWITHBERRY AND OTHER HEIRS OF THE LANGWITH ESTATE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
