THE CHANNEL EXTENDS EASTWARD FROM THE LODE MINING AREA FOR FOUR MILES. IN THE UPPER 2.5 MILES THE GRAVELS AVERAGE 25 FT. WIDE AND 10 TO 28 FT. DEEP. THE PAY STREAK WAS THE FIRST 1.5 FT. Comment (Geology): THE GOLD IS PROBABLY DERIVED FROM MINERALIZED SHEAR ZONES IN CHERT AND SHALE OF THE VININI FORMATION. THE GOLD RECOVERED IS VERY FINE AVERAGING 920 TO 960.
