Comment (Geology): THE DEPOSIT IS UNIQUE IN THAT THE HOST ROCK IS QUARTZITE, THE ORE BODIES WERE LOCALIZED BY INTENSE FRACTURING OF THE BRITTLE QUARTZITE. JASPEROID IS COMMON ALONG THE NEARBY HOOSAC FAULT ZONE. TERTIARY ANDESITE DIKES, RHYOLITE FLOWS, AND IN TRUSIVE BRECCIAS OCCUR NEAR THE MINE (NOLAN 1962 P.71).
