Comments

Comment (Deposit): OPALITE HAS BEEN FORMED ALONG THE HANING WALL OF THE STINES FAULT ZONE. CINNABAR IS DISSEMINATED IN OPALITE.

Comment (Deposit): LOCATED ON THE HUNT PROPERTY. TOGETHER W/ THE FOX MINE ON THE PANGBURN PROPERTY, THEY FORM THE GOVERNOR GROUP. THE WORKINGS CONSIST OF MANY CLOSELY SPACED TRENCHES AND ADITS, WHICH EXPLORE THE SILICIFIED STINES FAULT ZONE FOR OVER 3000 FT ALONG STRIKE. BAILEY & PHOENIX (1944 PL. 4) HAVE PUBLISHED A GEOLOGIC MAP OF THE AREA ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Workings): MANY CLOSELY-SPACED TRENCHES & ADITS WHICH EXPLORE THE SILICIFIED STINES FAULT ZONE FOR OVER 3000 FT. ALONG STIKE

Comment (Geology): THE STINES FAULT ZONE STRIKES SLIGHTLY EAST OF NORTH AND DIPS STEEPLY NORTHWEST. AT MOST LOCALITIES THE HANGING WALL IS RHYOLITC ASH & TUFF, WHEREAS THE FOOTWALL IS BASALT. OPALITE HAS BEEN FORMED FROM THE HANGING WALL ROCKS. CINNABAR IS PRESENT DISSEMINATED THROUGHOUT THE OPALITE. HOWEVER THE ORE BODIES THAT HAVE BEEN FOUND WERE SMALL, ERRATIC IN DISTRIBUTION, AND OF FAIRLY LOW GRADE (BAILEY & PHOENIX 1944)
