Comment (Geology): BERYL IN PEGMATITE DIKES

Comment (Deposit): THE GILBERT CANYON PEGMATITE AREA WAS EXPLORED PRIOR TO 1942 FOR BERYL BY MEANS OF SMALL PITS AND TRENCHES. ONE PROSPECT IN GILBERT CANYON 18' WIDE CONTAINED FEW SCATTERED BERYL CRYSTALS 2"-3" ACROSS, AND A LITTLE COLUMBITETANTALITE AND URANINITE. A FINE GRAINED PEGMATITE ON THE N. SIDE OF MCCUTCHEON CREEK (SEE 4) CONTAINS A FEW GREEN BERYL CRYSTALS AND A LITTLE COLUMBITE-TANTALITE. NO PRODUCTION IS RECORDED FROM THIS AREA THROUGH 1969. ; INFO.SRC :
