Comment (Deposit): THE WEBFOOT CLAIM IS DEVELOPED BY ADITS AND WINZES, AND BY THE WEBFOOT TUNNEL WHICH WAS DRIVEN, 200' WEST OF ADIT NO. 5 OF THE STANDING ELK AT SAME ELEVATION; IT CUT THE BULLION AND WEBFOOT VEINS. THIS ADIT ALSO CUT 400' OF SLSARN IN WHICH WAS A BODY OF SILICIOUS SILVER-COPPER ORE, 20' WIDE. DRIFTS AND CROSSCUTS WERE DRIVEN ON THIS, AND IT WAS NAMED THE KEY VEIN-IT CARRIED GOOD VALUES IN SILVER AND COPPER. THE PROPERTY WAS OWNED BY THE NEVADA BUNKER HILL MINING CO. IN THE EARLY DAYS OF ITS DEVELOPMENT IN 1872-6 THE A. J. RALSTON & CO OPERATED THIS MINE AND THE NEARBY TRIPOLI MINES; THE COMPANY SMELTER WAS LOCATED IN (OLD) BULLION TO TREAT THE LEAD-SILVER ORES. THE WEBFOOT TUNNEL WHICH SKARES THE SAME DUNYS AND PORTAL AREA OF THE DAVIS TUNNEL WAS BEGUN AFTER THE 1905 PROPERTY CONSOLIDATION; IT WAS (WEBFOOT) ULTIMATELY DRIVEN 900' TO INTERSECT THE ORE BODIES AT DEPTH, WITH SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET OF CROSSCUTS UNDER THE WEBFOOT WORKINGS.
