Comment (Production): ORE AVERAGES 16% CU, AND RUNS AS HIGH AS 40% CU. PRODUCTION WAS SMALL, LESS THAN $5000 WORTH, OCCURRING IN THE MID-1870'S AND IN 1915

Comment (Development): MINED IN THE MID-1870'S BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WORKED THE CHINAMAN MINE. 6 CLAIMS. SMALL PRODUCTION IN 1915.

Comment (Deposit): VEIN ALONG FISSURE IN DIKE

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: MID-1870'S

Comment (Deposit): THIS MINE IS LOCATED 1 MI. NE OF CHINA MT. AND THE CONTACT. IT WAS MINED IN THE MID-1870 S BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WORKED THE CHINAMAN MINE. PRACTICALLY ALL THE DIKES AND VEINS TREND NE-WARD, ROUGHLY PARALLEL TO THOSE IN THE ELLEN D. MT. AREA WEST OF THE SALMON R., AND SEEM TO BE PART OF THE SAME FISSURE SYSTEM. THE MINE IS LOCATED IN THE HIGH ORE GROUP, WHICH CONSISTS OF 6 CLAIMS. IT IS OPENED CHIEFLY BY A 65-FT. INCLINED SHAFT SUNK ON A VEIN WHICH DIPS 45 W., AND SEEMS TO BE CONTAINED IN A QUARTZ MONZONITE PORPHYRY DIKE SIMILAR TO THE CAMP BIRD PROSPECT. THE VEIN HAS A WIDTH OF AT LEAST A FOOT AND CONSISTS OF ABOUT 9 INCHES OF ORE WITH ONE OR TWO INCHES OF QUARTZ GANGUE ON EITHER SIDE. THE ORE AVERAGES 16% CU AND PEAKS AT ABOUT 40% CU. (SCHRADER, 1912, P 138), THE MINE HAD SMALL PRODUCTION IN 1915. (GRANGER, ET. AL., 1957, P 40.) ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
