Comments

Comment (Development): NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1983 - NONE PREVIOUSLY FOR A LONG TIME

Comment (Deposit): FRACTURE ZONE IS MARKED BY CU AND MINOR FE OXIDES. WEST AND EAST OF THE SHAFT, SHALLOW PROSPECTS EXPOSE PROPYLLITIZED ANDESITES WHICH HAVE FRACTURE OR FLOW-BEDDING SURFACES STRIKING N 10 W, 45E. A SMALL PROSPECT ABOUT 15 FT NW OF SHAFT EXPOSES AN OUTCROP OF FRACTURED ANDALTERED DACITE AND ANDESITE. FRACTURE SURFACES ARE COATED WITH MALACHITE, EPIDOTE, AND MINOR FE AND MN OXIDES. SAMPLE 129 COLLECTED FROM THE SHAFT DUMP CONSISTS OF MALACHITE-COATED, SILICIFIED, MAFIC INTRUSIVE (?) ROCK AND DENSE MINERALIZED SKARN COMPOSED OF EPIDOTE, RED GARNET (?) WITH POPS OF COARSE SIDERITE AND GLASSY QUARTZ AND ABUNDANT COPPER MINERALS. THE SAMPLE IS COATED BY FE OXIDES, CU OXIDES, CLAYS, AND WHITE POWDERY CALCITE. FINELY DISSEMINATED, OXIDIZED SULFIDES WERE OBSERVED IN ADDITION TO OXIDIZED CLOTS OF PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, TETRAHEDRITE OR CHALCOCITE (?). SOME SPECULARITE ALSO NOTED. MINERALIZED VEIN MATERIAL IS QUITE HEAVY. POSSIBLY MINOR GALENA ALSO PRESENT.

Comment (Workings): MAIN WORKING IS A 30-40 FT VERTICAL SHAFT WITH HEADFRAME. SHAFT IS IN GOOD CONDITION. WITH LADDER. SHALLOW PROSPECTS AND TRENCHES ARE LOCATED NEARBY ALONG FAULT ZONE TO NW AND SE OF SHAFT.
