CINNABAR IS ERRATICALLY DISTRIBUTED THROUGH THE SILICEOUS LAYERS. N70E SHEAR ZONE WITH CINNABAR, HGCI, ON OPEN FRACTURES. ROCK IS BRECCUATED WITH WIDE ZONE OF SOLUTION MOVEMENT, ALTERATION ALONG STRUCTURE, FLUFFY SILICA IN OPEN SPACES IN SOLUTION CHANNELS. WALL ROCK OPALIZED, SILICIFIED, BRECCIATED.

Comment (Workings): MINING IS BY OPEN PIT METHODS, ALTHOUGH EARLY DEVELOPMENT WAS UNDERGROUND, AND INCLUDED A GLORY HOLE 350 FT. BY 150 FT. BY 35 FT; AN 800-FT. HAULAGE ADIT; AN OPEN CUT 175 BY 75 BY 25 FEET; AND TWO ADITS

Comment (Production): PRODUCTION IN 1960'S IS UNKNOWN, BUT IN 1960, DAILY PRODUCTION WAS 200 TONS ORE PER DAY CARRYING 2-3 LB HG/TON.

Comment (Deposit): EARLY IN 1927, THE B&B QUICKSILVER CO. WAS ORGANIZED BY PETER BUOL AND H. BERNIE. BUOL BOUGHT OUT BERNIE'S INTEREST AND INSTALLED 4 D RETORTS IN 1927 AND PRODUCED OVER 100 FL HG. IN 1928, A 50-TON ROTARY FURNACE WAS INSTALLED AND IN 1929 A SECOND 60-TON ROTARY FURNACE WAS ADDED. THE PLANT CLOSED IN 1931, DECLARING BANKRUPTCY. LESSEES DID SOMEWORK FROM 1932 TO 1942.
