Comments

Comment (Deposit): MANGANESE OXIDES IN PIPELIKE BODIES OF CALLAREOUS AND OPALINE SPRING SINTER . SOME OF THE VEIN MATERIAL IS MN-RICH CHALCEDONY, OTHERS ARE VUGGY MN-RICH QUARTZ. MANY OF THE LATTER TYPE LOOK LIKE THE OUTCROPS OF THE MOHAWK VEIN, AND MAY HAVE BEEN THE REASON FOR SO MUCH PROSPECTING ON THESE DEPOSITS

Comment (Workings): TRENCHES, PROSPECT PITS AND A SHAFT

Comment (Location): POOR ACCESS THE LAST HALF MILE ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Development): EARLY EXPLORATION WAS PROBABLY NOT FOR MN BUT FOR PRECIOUS METALS
