Comments

Comment (Development): FIRST LOCATED IN 1914 AND EXPLORED FOR GOLD, WITHOUT SUCCESS. RELOCATED IN 1949 WHEN A NEW ROAD WAS BUILT ONTO THE AREA FROM VERNON. IN 1952, SEVERAL TRUCKLOADS OF ORE WERE MINED AND HAULED TO THE TOY MILL FOR TESTING. IN 1955 THE DEPOSIT YIELDED AN ADDITIONAL 225 TONS ORE GRADING ABOUT 1.0 % WO3.

Comment (Deposit): THIN BEDDED LIMESTONES AND SHALES BOUNDED ON THE EAST BY GRANITE AND CUT BY FINGERS AND SILLS OF GRANITE. NEAR THE CONTACTS HORNFELS AND TACTITE ARE DEVELOPED CONTAINING EPIDOTE, GARNET, QUARTZ, AND SCHEELITE. TACTITE RIBS RANGE FROM 2 TO 4 FT WIDE, ABOUT 30 FT LONG. SCHEELITE IS FINELY DISSEMINATED IN THE TACTITE AND AVERAGES ABOUT 0.48 % WO3 WHILE SORTED ORE CONTAINED ABOUT 1.3 % WO3.

Comment (Workings): 2 ADITS, CUTS, PITS.
