Comments

Comment (Development): NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN OCT. 1986, BUT AREA WAS STAKED AS A MO-CU PROSPECT IN 1970 AND 2 SHALLOW ROTARY DRILL HOLES PUT DOWN IN AREA OF FE-STAINED DUMP AND IN LAPLATA CANYON WEST OF THE DUMP. DRILL HOLES INTERSECTED WEAK SKARN MINERALIZATION WITH MINOR MOLYBDENITE, AND CHALCOPYRITE. CLAIMS NOW INACTIVE.

Comment (Deposit): SKARN QUARTZ VEIN, SERICITIZATION, KAOLINIZATION WITH SULFIDES AND TUNGSTEN MINERALIZATION. SHALE & SILTSTONE IN CONTACT WITH GRANITE BOTH CUT BY VEINS AND PODS OF WHITE QUARTZ LOCALLY CONTAINING SULFIDES. GRANITIC MATERIAL FROM THE LARGE DUMP JUST EAST OF LAPLATA CANYON IS SERICITIZED AND FE-STAINED. PODS OF GARNET-EPIDOTE-CALCITE SKARN HAVE FORMED IN PLACES ALONG THE GRANITE-SEDIMENTARY ROCK CONTACT.

Comment (Workings): PROSPECT

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1860'S

Comment (Location): ON EAST SIDE OF LAPLATA CANYON ABOUT 0.7 MILE ABOVE LAPLATA SITE ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
