Comments

Comment (Geology): ONE 4-FOOT SAMPLE, TAKEN ACROSS THE MINERALIZED ZONE IN THE EASTERNMOST CUT, ASSAYED 27.3 PERCENT MN. WORK HAS BEEN INSUFFICIENT FOR DETERMINING THE STRIKE LENGTH OF THE DEPOSIT. THE BEST MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN THE WESTERN MOST CUT, AS THE ZONE BECOMES MORE SILICEOUS TO THE EAST.

Comment (Deposit): MANGANESE MINERALIZATION AT THE MARK TWAIN PROSPECT IS EXPOSED IN THREE SHALLOW OPENCUTS APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET APART. THE MANGANIFEROUS ZONE, WHICH IS ABOUT 4 FEET WIDE, STRIKES N. 55 DEG W. AND HAS AN ALMOST VERTICAL DIP. THE ORE MINERAL IS BEMENTITE ASSOCIATED WITH JASPER AND RED LIMESTONE.

Comment (Workings): 3 SHALLOW OPENCUTS.

Comment (Location): THE PROSPECT IS REACHED FROM PORT ANGELES BY FOLLOWING U.S. HIGHWAY 101 WEST 9 MILES TO THE ELWHA RIVER, THENCE SOUTH ON THE OLYMPIC HOT SPRINGS ROAD FOR 9 MILES TO THE HAPPY LAKE TRAIL. THE MARK TWAIN CLAIM IS NEEDED, AS THERE IS NO DEFINITE TRAIL DIRECTLY TO THE DEPOSITS.

Comment (Development): THREE SHALLOW OPENCUTS
