Comment (Location): ACCESS TO THE SAILOR BOY ADIT IS BY WAY OF THE CRESCENT MINE ROAD, WHICH CONNECTS WITH U.S. HIGHWAY 101, 1 MILE WEST OF FAIRHOLM. THE MINE ROAD IS FOLLOWED ONE-FOURTH MILE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH AN ABANDONED RAILROAD ROADBED, THENCE WESTWARD ALONG THE ROADBED TO A BULLDOZED TRAIL ONE-HALF MILE BEYOND THE CRESCENT CAMP. THE TRAIL LEADS NORTHWARD UP A MODERATELY STEEP SLOPE TO THE ADIT SITE.
Comment (Workings): THE MINE WORKINGS CONSIST OF A 110-FOOT CROSSCUT ADIT
Comment (Geology): PROMINENT SECONDARY MINERALIZATION IS CALCITE AND HEMATITE STAIN THAT HAS FILLED IRREGULAR FRACTURES IN THE BASALT.
Comment (Deposit): THE CROSSCUT WAS APPARENTLY DRIVEN TO INTERSECT A CONTINUATION OF THE FAVORABLE MANGANESE HORIZONS MINED AT THE NEARBY CRESCENT MINE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
