Comment (Production): PRODUCED SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS OF COPPER MATTE PRIOR TO 1910. A 200-TON/DAY MILL WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN 1955 (HUNTTING, 1956, P. 82).

Comment (Geology): GRANODIORITE AND TONALITE OF THE INDEX BATHOLITH INTRUDE OLDER METAMORPHIC ROCKS IN THE INDEX AREA (TABOR AND OTHERS, 1982, P. 10). BOTH THE GRANODIORITE AND THE OLDER METAMORPHIC ROCKS (WHICH THE GRANODIORITE INTRUDES) ARE CUT BY APLITE AND LAMPROPHYRE DIKES, AND ALL ARE UNCONFORMABLY OVERLAIN BY INTERBEDDED ANDESITE AND ARKOSE (BROUGHTON, 1942, P. 14).
