Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: SCHISTOSE, SILICIFIED SLATE HANGING WALL; DECOMPOSED JOINTED ROCK ONCE CRYSTALLINE ON FOOTWALL WHICH CONTAIN SEAMS OF GOUGE MATTER. GOUGE MATTER VEINED WITH IRREGULAR QUARTZ AND CALCITE STRINGERS. QUARTZ CARRIES SMALL AMOUNTS OF SULFIDE ORE. DECOMPOSED ROCK UP TO 5 FT. THICK. FOOTWALL ROCKS COMPOSED OF BASALTIC GREENSTONE - BRECCIAS, TUFFS, LAVAS. A CONSIDERABLY SHEARED 15 FT. DIKE OF HORNBLENDE RICH GABBRO OCCURS IN THE GREENSTONE; SERPENTINE AND LENSES OF PERIDOTITE ARE FOUND IN THE ORE ZONE OF THE FOOTWALL ALONG WITH LENSES OF ALBITITE.
