Comments

Comment (Reserve-Resource): The valley of French Gulch adjacent to the Wire Patch placer has not been worked, but its potential for placer deposits was considered to be low. (Sunshine files #221)

Comment (Geology): One of the gulch, or colluvial, placer deposits around Farncomb Hill, it was small but rich in gold.

Comment (Location): Gulch on the SW slope of the saddle between Humbug and Farncomb Hills, about 4 miles east of Breckenridge, W/2 sec. 35, T 6S, R 77 W.

Comment (Production): The Wire Patch, and other placers in gulches that drain Farncomb Hill, are credited with $5,000,000 (about 250,000 oz. of gold at $20/oz.) output in gold.
