Comment (Workings): 1200-FT. VERTICAL SHAFT WITH CROSSCUTS ON VEIN; 10 LEVELS; WINZE; DRIFTS; SURFACE PLANT EXTENSIVE.

Comment (Production): FIRST WORKED ON SMALL SCALE IN 1850'S; CONSOLIDATED WITH UNION MINE IN 1860'S BUT LATER WORKED SEPARATELY; WORKED EXTENSIVELY 1880'S AND 1890'S; CLOSED DOWN IN 1907. REOPENED IN 1941 AND RECORDED PRODUCTION FOR THAT YEAR WAS 169 OZ. GOLD FROM 496 TONS OF ORE MILLED. IDLE SINCE 1942. BEST ORE WAS FROM KIDNEY (MIDDLE) VEIN, WHICH WAS AS HIGH IN GRADE AS $30 PER TON. THE WEST VEIN CONTAINED ONLY LOW-GRADE MATERIAL. SULFIDES FORMED 1 1/2 TO 2 1/4 PERCENT OF THE ORE AND ASSAYED AS HIGH AS $140 PER TON. PROBABLY INCLUDES THE GOLDEN FLEECE AND EL DORADO CLAIMS - CONTAINS 80 ACRES.
