Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: A BED OF BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES 4 FT. THICK, UNDERLAIN GRADATIONALLY BY A BED OF MASSIVE, YELLOW-BROWN CHERT 5 TO 8 FT. THICK. THE STRUCTURE OF THE ORE BED IS COMPLEX AND MAY BE A FAULTED ANTICLINE. THE ORE BED AND THE UNDERLYING CHERT ARE ENCLOSED IN THIN-BEDDED RED AND GREEN CHERT WITH SHALE PARTINGS. SCATTERED CLUSTERS OF BROWN RADIATING CRYSTALS MAY BE BEMENTITE.

Comment (Production): ABOUT 40 TONS OF ORE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND PILED IN DUMPS AROUND THE CUT. THIS ORE PROBABLY AVERAGES 40 TO 45 PERCENT MANGANESE.
