Comment (Deposit): THIS IS THE LARGEST KNOWN GOLD DEPOSIT IN OREGON. MERCURY DEPOSITS ARE SUPERJACENT TO GOLD MINERALIZATION. TOTAL SULFIDE AVERAGES 3% AT QUARTZ BUTTE AND 8% AT CRONE HILL. HIGH-GRADE VEINS UNDERLIE DISSEMINATED MINERALIZATION. ORE-FORMING SYSTEMS WERE PART OF LATE-STAGE MAGMA EVOLUTION AND MOVEMENT IN THE DOME COMPLEXES.

Comment (Geology): DEPOSIT IS LOCATED IN A BELT OF RHYOLITE DOMES AND DOME COMPLEXES IN A TERTIARY BIMODAL VOLCANIC TERRANE. OXIDATION IS PRESENT TO DEPTHS OF 165-360 FT. MOST OF THE GOLD IS FOUND IN THE ILLITE-BEARING, ARGILLIC ALTERED AREAS
