Comments

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1880'S

Comment (Location): LOCATION IS ACCURATE FOR PROSPECT MARKED ON THE GUADALUPITA QUADRANGLE. THE CADASTRAL GRID IS PROJECTED IN THIS AREA. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1979

Comment (Deposit): THE COPPER MINERALIZATION IS CONFINED TO CERTAIN BEDS IN 3 OR 4 HORIZONS. THAT HAVE EXTREMELY STEEP DIPS WITH A SOUTHWARD STRIKE. CHALCOCITE, MALACHITE, AZURITE AND URANIUM MINERALIZATION OCCUR IN ARKOSES AND SHALES AS PATCHES, DISSEMINATIONS AND NODULES. THE COUNTRY ROCK IS HIGHLY MICACEOUS IN PLACES. ZONES OF MINERALIZATION ARE SMALL, ABOUT 100 FEET LONG AND 5 FEET THICK. MINERALIZATION CAN BE FOUND FOR 7.5 MILES DOWN COYOTE CREEK FROM THE JOHN HAYS MINE.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF BOTH SURFACE TRENCHES AND AN 150-FOOT SHAFT WITH A 30-FOOT DRIFT AT THE BOTTOM.
