Comment (Commodity): THERE IS A CONFLICT IN LITERATURE OVER THE PRESENCE OF MOLYBDENUM AT THE SAN MIGUEL. THE FIRST REFERENCE CAME IN 1974 BY R.U. KING FOR CRIB. HE REPORTED ASSAY VALUES FROM HISUNPUBLISHED DATA OF 300 PPM MO. IN 1982 GREEN, ET AL., REPORTED <10 PPM MO.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): BENJOVSKY, T.D., 1944, UNPUBLISHED NMBMMR REPORT ON THE SAN MIGUEL MINE, NACIMIENTO MOUNTAINS, SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM

Comment (Location): LOCATION IS ACCURATE FOR THE PORTAL OF THE CENTER ADIT SHOWN ON THE QUADRANGLE.

Comment (Production): ELSTON (1967, NMBMMR BULL 81, P.28) REPORTS THAT IN 1966 SEVERAL THOUSAND TONS OF ORE WERE HAULED TO A LEACH PLANT IN CUBA, NM.

Comment (Deposit): TWO WEST-TRENDING FAULTS ABOUT 800 FT APART BOUND MOST OF THE MINERALIZED AREA. THE MINERALIZATION OCCURS MAINLY AS CHALCOCITE IN FOSSILIZED WOOD AND TREES OR AS CONCRETIONARY NODULES.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF OVER 6 TUNNELS RANGING FROM 300 TO 800 FT LONG, SEVERAL DUMPS AND AN OPEN-PIT. SOULE (1956) HAS A MINE MAP OF THE SAN MIGUEL.

Comment (Geology): THE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN THE AGUA ZARCA SANDSTONE MEMBER OF THE CHINLE FORMATION.
