IN 1918, THE MINE WAS CLOSED BY FIRE, BUT SEVERAL CARS OF ORE WERE SHIPPED IN 1919. PLATINUM WAS NOT DISCOVERED IN THE ORE UNTIL 1901.

Comment (Workings): Blanche shaft, 600-700 yards (meters) west of the New Rambler Mine was an exploration shaft developed to find the western extent of the New Rambler ore body. It was sunk to a depth of 160 ft. At 120 ft. it penetrated a zone of low-grade copper mineralization. (PIC-32, p. 39).

THIS DATA DOES NOT IMPLY THE EXISTENCE OF ANY RESERVES AT THE PRESENT TIME. TYPE OF ORE BODY- THE ORE WAS LOCATED IN THREE SMALL PODS THAT WERE STRUCTURALLY CONTROLLED EITHER BY FISSURES OR BY THE INTERSECTION OF A MYLONITE ZONE WITH TWO DISTINCT SHEAR ZONES, DEPENDING ON THE PUBLISHED SOURCE. EARLY BELIEF WAS THAT THE DEPOSIT WAS OF THE FISSURE VEIN TYPE, BUT LATER STUDY SUGGESTS THAT THE ORE WAS LOCATED IN MAFIC BLOCKS THAT WERE TECTONICALLY TRANSLATED PROJECTIONS OF THE MULLEN CREEK LAYERED MAFIC INTRUSIVE COMPLEX. THESE BLOCKS WERE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF A NORTHEAST- TRENDING MYLONITE ZONE WITH AN EAST-WEST MILE-WIDE ZONE OF INTENSELY SHEARED ROCKS AND WITH A SET OF FOUR CLOSE- SPACED NORTHWEST-TRENDING FRACTURES. DEGREE OF WALL ROCK ALTERATION- VARIABLE FROM SLIGHT TO INTENSE. DIMENSIONS OF THE THREE ORE BODIES WERE SIMILAR. DIMENSIONS GIVEN ARE AVERAGES OF THE DIMENSIONS OF THE THREE INDIVIDUAL BODIES.
