Comment (Deposit): THE WILLARD GROUP INCLUDES THE SHEEPHERDER (LARGEST PRODUCER), TREASURE HILL, AND NEVADA HONEY BEE MINES. GOLD WAS FIRST DISCOVERED AT THE SHEEPHERDER CLAIMS IN 1915, SOME SILVER & COPPER WERE PRODUCED FROM THE SAME AREA BETWEEN 1905 AND 1912. UNTIL 1951, GOLD AND SILVER WERE MINED IN SMALL QUANTITIES FROM CLAIMS IN THE WILLARD GROUP OF MINES. THE NETWORK OF QUARTZ VEINLETS WAS DEVELOPED BY NUMEROUS TUNNELS, SHAFTS, ADITS, AND SCATTERED WORKINGS TOTALING ABOUT 1300 FEET. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV

Comment (Workings): NUMEROUS TUNNELS, SHAFTS, ADITS AND SCATTERED WORKINGS. OPEN STOPES. DRILL ROADS AND DRILL SITES APPROX. 3-5 YEARS OLD (1985).

Comment (Geology): ORE CONSISTED OF FREE-MILLING GOLD & SILVER IN COPPER-STAINED QUARTZ VEINS. ORE OCCURS IN CREVICES IN LIMESTONES AT AND NEAR THE CONTACT WITH THE UNDERLYING RHYOLITE. MINERALIZATION IS ALSO PRESENT IN BRECCIATED RHYOLITE CLOSE TO BASALT DIKES.
