Comments

Comment (Development): THESE 40-53 CLAIMS ADJOIN THE LINCOLN MINE ON THE SOUTH. PRODUCTION HAS BEEN SPORADIC. NORTH TEMPIUTE MINING AND DEVELOPMENT CO. WAS ORGANIZED IN 1937 BY THE SCHOFIELD BROTHERS OF HIKO. THE MINE WAS OPERATING IN 1938 WITH A 50-TON MILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. MILL WAS OPERATING IN 1941. USBM EXPLORED BOTH THIS DEPOSIT AND THE THE LINCOLN MINE IN 1942. THE PROPERTY WAS LEASED TO ATOLIA MINING CO IN 1946. UNION CARBIDE NOW OPERATES THE MINE INTERMITTENTLY AS PART OF ITS EMERSON MINE OPERATIONS. IT WAS LEASED TO Y-Z CO IN 1954 WHO PRODUCED UNTIL 1955.

Comment (Geology): THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE MOODY ORE ZONE IS ON THE PROPERTY, WITH 4 ORE SHOOTS, 16 TO 200 FEET LONG, 4 TO 9 FEET THICK, EXTEND PROBABLY TO DEPTH OF 400 FEET. ORE SHOOTS OCCUR IN A SINGLE BAND OF TACTITE 20-110 FEET THICK ON WEST CONTACT WITH THE GRANITE; NARROWER BAND ON EAST CONTACT.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): INDICATED ORE: 35,600 STU WO3

Comment (Location): INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)
