Comments

Comment (Geology): ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX--L. TO L. MASSVE PSILOMELANE 1 1/2 TO 2 1/2 FT. THICK EXPOSED IN 6 LENSES; FOOTWALL OF ORE BODY IS WELL-BEDDED RED RADIOLARIAN CHERT AND THE HANGING WALL IS MASSIVE CHERT THAT HAS BEEN SOMEWHAT BRECCIATED. (D.O.M. BULL. 152, P. 112 INDICATES PRODUCTION AS HAVING BEEN ONLY 200 TONS, MOSTLY AFTER 1917). ; GEOL.DESC: MASSIVE PSILOMELANE ORE BODIES IN WELL-BEDDED RED RADIOLARIAN CHERT. SOME PYROLUSITE IS PRESENT. NUMEROUS FAULTS CUT THE ORE BODIES.
