Comment (Deposit): HILLTOP MINE CONSISTS OF 4 MAJOR LEVELS, 3 ARE CONNECTED, OVER 5 5 MILES OF UNDERGROUND WORKINGS. ORE SHOOTS OCCUR IN PERMIAN SEDIMENTARY ROCKS CONTROLLED MAINLY BY HIGH-ANGLE SHEAR FAULTS. FOUR MAJOR DEPOSIT TYPES: 1) CHIMNEY OR IRREGULAR REPLACEMENT 2) VEIN, 3) BEDDING REPLACEMENT, AND 4) SECONDARY OR OXIDIZED ONE PRODUCTION FIGURE FOR ENTIRE CALIFORNIA DISTRICT FOR 1902- 1954 GIVES 28,000 SHORT TONS OF ORE AND CONCENTRATES YIELDING 290 OZ GOLD, 117,000 OZ SILVER, 4,035 SHORT TONS LEAD, 582 SHORT TONS ZINC, AND 176 SHORT TONS COPPER. BY FAR THE MAJORITY OF THIS PRODUCTION CAME FROM THE HILLTOP MINE.
