Comment (Production): BURGIN MINED PRESENTLY BEING FURTHER DEVELOPED AS OF OCT 1987 TO BE REOPENED IN THE NEAR FUTURE 1963-1977 PRODUCTION FROM BU MINES PRODUCTION STATISTICS.

Comment (Economic Factors): VERY TINY AMOUNTS OF CADMIUM ARE THOUGHT TO BE PRESENT IN THE ORE BUT GRADE IS UNKNOWN.

Comment (Ownership): KENNECOTT WAS THE OPERATING COMPANY UNTIL 1978, WHEN THE MINE SHUT DOWN. AS OF AUGUST 1980, IT IS KNOWN THAT SUNSHINE MINING CO. HAS SIGNED AN OPTION AGREEMENT WITH CHIEF CONSOLIDATION TO EXPLORE AND POTENTIALLY REACTIVATE- THE BURGIN MINE. THIS OPTION TERMINATED IN 1993. CHIEF CONSOLIDATED TERMINATED LEASE WITH SUNSHINE MINING COMPANY IN 1993. THYSSEN MINING CONSTRUCTION OF CANADA LTD HAS AGREED TO A 3 PHASE PLAN TO CONDUCT PRELIMINARY MINE ENGINEERING DESIGN, BUDGETING AND PLANNING SERVICES (PI): (P2); THYSSEN WOULD COMPLETE ALL NECESSARY CONSTRUCTION IF FINANCING IS OBTAINED: (P3); THYSSEN WOULD OPERATE THE MINE: (INFO AS OF NOV. 96).
