Comments

Comment (Commodity): The ore is rich in Au-Ag telluride, and also contains more copper than most mines in the area.

Comment (Geology): Veins of pyritic copper ore (Homestake and Pitttsburgh) and telluride ore (Notaway) strike NE and dip to the NW.

Comment (Location): The Pittsburgh-Notaway Group is about 1 mile SE of Central City on the north side of Russell Gulch, in E/2 E/2 sec. 13, T 3 S, R 73 W.

Comment (Production): Total production from 1902 to 1954: gold - 85,000 oz., silver - 185,000 oz., copper - 2,900,000 lb., plus small amounts of lead and zinc. In addition, a modest amount was produced before 1902.
