TOPOGRAPHIC CONDITIONS ON ALL OUTCROPS ARE EXCELLENT FOR UNDERGROUND MINING, AND THE EXTENT OF THE BEDS ABOVE CREEK LEVEL IS VERY LARGE. SEVERAL MILLION LONG TONS OF FURNACE- GRADE PHOSPHATE MAY BE PRESENT IN THE 3 BROS, ABOVE THE LEVEL OF DOUGLAS CREEK. SAMPLE LOT 1388 FROM USGS PROF PAPER 313-F IS LOCATED HERE.

Comment (Geology): DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF 3 BEDS. BEDS 1-2 ARE ON WEST LIMB OF DOUGLAS MT ANTICLINE, BED 3 IS ON EAST LIMB. BED 3: 850 FT LONG, 4FT WIDE, 350 FT DOWNDIP; STRIKES N5W DIP 44-56E;27.5% P205 BED 2: 365 FT LONG, 5FT WIDE, 150 FT DOWNDIP; STRIKES WIDE DIP 83-85E; 28% P205 BED 1: 40 FT LONG, 3FT WIDE, 25FT DOWNDIP; STRIKES N5E DIP 70E. 27% P205 AT 9 FT THICK BEDS AVERAGE 24% P205. QUARTZITE HANGING AND FOOTWALL AT 9FT THICKNESS.

Comment (Production): ORIGINALLY EXPLORED BY N.P.RAILROAD, 500 FT OF UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT WORK 1931-32, 400 TONS OF 31.1% P205 SHIPPED. 1943-45 INTERNATIONAL MINERALS AND CHEMICAL SHIPPED 7000 TONS OF CONS AT 31.5% P205, LEFT 6500 TONS IN STOPES IN 1958 COMINCO TOOK OVER. IN 1965 THEY DEVELOPED 3 MAIN ADITS, BUILT A FLOAT PLANT AND EXTENDED A RAIL SIDING TO THE PLANT. PLANT CAPACITY WAS 300000 TONS OF FLOTATION CON PER YEAR FROM A DAILY FEED OF 1300 TONS. PLANT COST $6 MILLION. NO. 3 ADIT ON BED 3 IS 1650 AT LONG WITH 5 SHRINKAGE STOPES. NO. 2 ADIT ON BED 2 IS 265 FT LONG. NO. 1 ADIT ON BED 1 IS 50 FT LONG.
