Comments

Comment (Development): The mine was developed on 6 unpatented claims in 1940 at which time it was owned by W.H. Schweis. Considerable prospecting has been done iover the years, with production of only several car loads of ore. The property has possible potential for a bulk-mineable precious metal deposit. Ownership was listed as Societe Miniere Mimiska, Inc. in1996.

Comment (Economic Factors): Production in 1936 was 24 tons of ore grading 0.515 opt Au and 5.49 opt Ag, total value of $280. Much early production was probably unreported. Reserves in 1996 were reported as 96,000 oz Au.

Comment (Identification): All material from original MRDS record M234039 has been copied to this record and updated. This record should superecede record M234039.

Comment (Location): The deposit is located on the crest of a ridge west of Buffalo Canyon road, 14 miles by road SE of Eastgate. The area is unsurveyed., so cadastral coordinates are projected from adjacent sections.

Comment (Workings): INCLINED SHAFT, ADITS, RAISES, WINZES, STOPES

Comment (Commodity): Ore Materials: native siver; free gold.
